History:
1948
Karl A. Ress founds his wine trading company Karl A. Ress Wein in Kloster Eberbach/Rheingau. As wholesaler and wine expert, he builds up international contacts and starts with the export of high end German wines.
1971
After the early death of the founder, his son Joachim Ress overtakes the business and still runs the company today. Joachim successfully completed a viticultural apprenticeship at Fürst von Metternich in Schloss Johannisberg, after that, he continued with a business education at Asbach & Co in Rüdesheim and at Kobrand Corp. in New York, USA. Joachim Ress is an accredited wine commissioner (broker) for all German Wine auctions, he is specialized on brokerage and trading with high end German wines and rare wines.
2009
The daughter Viktoria Ress joins the company. She successfully finished her study in international business administration with stations in Europe and abroad. During her first business years, Viktoria worked for an international advisory company. Since 2009, she joins Karl A. Ress Wein and graduated in June 2011 in a state-approved sommelier program (IHK-geprüfte Sommelière), awarded by the chamber of commerce.
